Sea kayaking and stand up paddling (SUP) adventures in Nova Scotia and Canada’s North Atlantic Coast. We offer guided day tours in the renowned LaHave Island Archipelago and the Mahone Bay Islands on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. For those who prefer a self guided tour, we also rent kayaks, paddleboards and canoes. We also offer multi-day expeditions in superb locations across Atlantic Canada, as well as outdoor education, yoga, paddling instruction and other custom group programs and tours. Everyone is welcome, no experience is needed!

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award



If you are a youth between the ages of 14 and 25, you can register for the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Did you know that with this internationally recognized award you can receive Nova Scotia high school credit for grades 10, 11 or 12? This Duke Of Edinburgh’s program provides an opportunity to gain valuable life skills, develop leadership experience, and have fun while earning high school credit outside of the classroom!

At Cape LaHave Adventures we specialize in facilitating the Preparation & Training, Practice Journey and Qualifying Journey components of the Adventurous Journey in some of the best wilderness tripping areas in Eastern Canada. Our staff have over a decade of experience in facilitating the outdoor leadership requirements of the Duke Of Edinburgh’s Award with programs such Outward Bound Canada and the Boys and Girl’s Club of Greater Victoria.

All of our Paddle Canada courses qualify for the Preparation and Training portion of the award, here are a few examples:

Duke of Edinburgh Journeys with Cape LaHave Adventures are offered at a discounted youth rate and includes all expedition equipment, a certified guide / instructor, and all meals. For specific details on the journeys please check out the Duke of Ed website   

Gold Practice Journey: 2 days / 1 night  - $299

Silver Practice Journey: 2 days / 1 night -  $299

Bronze Practice Journey: 1 day -  $120 (or $299 as an overnight)


Gold Qualifying Journey: 4 days / 3 nights  -  $589

Silver Qualifying Journey: 3 Days / 2 nights  - $449

Bronze Qualifying Journey: 2 days / 1 night  - $299

Our existing trip locations are perfect for the journeys (except for the Glamping Adventure or the South Shore Inn to Inn). For existing dates, please have a look at our multi-day offerings for current trip dates.
