HIGHLIGHTS
The 100 Wild Islands are one of Nova Scotia’s most remarkable coastal landscapes. An archipelago of 282 islands, the untouched white-sand beaches, sheltered coves, and rugged, windswept headlands create an incredible setting for a multi-day sea kayak journey along the Eastern Shore.
Over five days, we’ll travel by kayak through a maze of islands and passages, paddling quiet shorelines, stopping at secluded beaches, and setting up camp along the coast. The landscape is wonderfully varied, with coastal rainforests, bogs, beaches and barrens. The islands provide important habitat for a remarkable diversity of wildlife. Eagles and osprey are regular sights overhead, while more than 100 species of seabirds, songbirds, and shorebirds make their home along the coastline. Much of this special place has been protected through the conservation efforts of the Nova Scotia Nature Trust and local partners, helping ensure its natural habitats and character remain intact for generations to come.
There’s plenty of time to take it all in, enjoy the rhythm of travelling by water, and appreciate the simple pleasures of days spent paddling and nights spent camping by the sea. This five-day expedition is an opportunity to step away from the everyday, spend time in a beautiful coastal landscape, and experience the 100 Wild Islands at the pace of a kayak.
