Sample Itinerary
Please note that this itinerary is an example that is intended to give you an idea of the pace of our trips. It may change based on the weather conditions.
Day 1: Arrival and Paddle to First Island Camp
Overnight Location - Island Camp | Time - Kayaking – 2-3 hours | Meals - Lunch, Dinner
Arrive at Cape LaHave Adventures by 10:00 am for a welcome coffee, tea, pastries, and fruit. Meet your guides, receive your kayaking equipment, and pack your dry bags and kayaks with assistance from the team. Enjoy a lunch at the base before departing at 1:00 pm from the black sand beach for a 2-3 hour paddle to the first island camp. Upon arrival, set up camp, relax, and enjoy a freshly prepared dinner at 6:00 pm.
Day 2: Paddle the Southern Archipelago
Overnight Location - Island Camp | Time - Kayaking – 4–6 hours | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Start the day with breakfast between 7:30–8:30 am, followed by an optional morning stretch at 9:30 am. Launch kayaks at 10:00 am to explore the southern portion of the archipelago, including Cape LaHave Island, Bantam Bay Beach, Green Bay, Wolfe Gut or Halibut Bay. Paddle 4–6 hours, with a lunch stop at one of the scenic island beaches along the way. Return to the base camp around 4:00 pm, unwind, and enjoy appetizers before a delicious dinner prepared by your guides.
Day 3: Paddle the Northern Islands to the Lighthouse
Overnight Location - Island Camp | Time - Kayaking – 4–6 hours | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy breakfast between 7:30–8:30 am, followed by an optional morning stretch at 9:30 am. Pack up camp and launch kayaks at 10:00 am to explore more highlights of the archipelago. Paddle toward Mosher’s Island and set up camp near the lighthouse. Take a walk to the lighthouse for panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Gaff Point, and West Ironbound Island, or stroll to the other side of the island. Return to camp to relax and enjoy appetizers before another freshly prepared dinner.
Day 4: Departure Day
Overnight Location - None | Time - Kayaking – 3–4 hours | Meals - Breakfast, Lunch
Start the morning with breakfast between 7:30–8:30 am, followed by an optional morning stretch at 9:30 am. Pack up camp and kayaks, then launch at 10:00 am for the journey back to the mainland. Weather permitting, take in final views of the open Atlantic Ocean before paddling past northern islands in the archipelago. Arrive back at the starting point of the tour at 2:00 pm, unpack kayaks, and say your goodbyes.
We believe that incredible meals are essential to a memorable backcountry experience. Our guides pride themselves on their excellent camp cooking skills and we outfit all of our trips with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and regional specialties. We are also accustomed to accommodating different tastes. Before your trip, you will be contacted by your guide to discuss trip plans and any food preferences you may have. Be prepared to work up an appetite in the fresh air and be extremely well fed!
Note that we can accommodate most dietary restrictions. A $15/day may apply to cover the expense of specialty products.

Because our courses, tours and rentals have a limited number of spots available, we have to turn people away once our bookings are full. Due to this, we cannot refund or reschedule within 48hrs for day tours and rentals, 30 days for courses, and 60 days for multidays unless a suitable replacement is found. If a replacement is found, or for cancellations further in advance, a full refund less a 20% administration fee will be issued.
Our cancellation policy must apply even in the event of a medical problem or family circumstance. We strongly recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance. In the case of a Force Majeure, such as but not limited to acts of terrorism, war, pandemics, labour disputes, government actions, strikes, or major adverse weather conditions, all terms and conditions may be subject to change. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any clinics or trips due to weather or insufficient registration. In these cases, full refunds will be issued and we will do our best to reschedule. We will contact you once a trip is confirmed, so you can then book travel with confidence.
