No stranger to the Atlantic coast, Mariele was raised on the South Shore of N.S. by a family of fishermen whose ancestors were some of the earliest settlers to establish a home on the LaHave Islands. Now a self-proclaimed "certified professional dirtbag", Mariele sees no distinction between work and play and makes a life of outdoor adventure, spending winters working professional Ski Patrol in the mountains of B.C., while spending her summers traveling, hiking, paddling, and living semi-nomadically out the back of her van. Mariele's adventures have taken her to remote locations around the world and led her to develop an extensive backcountry travel log across multiple disciplines. She is stoked on pushing her limits in all disciplines of SUP, and passionate about multi-day wilderness expeditions and their transformative potential for social change.
